Who Are We?

About HCA

We are the association that represents Professional Counselors in Hawaii. As Counselors we are dedicated to helping people meet the challenges of life. Hawaii counselors have completed at least Master’s degree in Counseling as well as supervised internships. Counselors provide a variety of services based upon their specialization and role.

Hawaii Counselors Association has been approved by NBCC to be the sole organization in Hawaii to provide NBCC training credits for counselors. Upon completion of a training counselors will receive a certificate with our seal, NBCC #, number of credits, and signature.  Counselors may submit this paper work as evidence to the state relate to certification or Licensure maintenance.  Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified.  Hawaii Counselors Association is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.  At this time we only provide CE’s for face-to-face trainings only.  However, we collaborate with other associations such as the UHM School of Public Health that provide other opportunities for CE’s (also with ACA and other affiliated organizations) to expand our CE’s offerings.  Please watch for emails from HCAlist@gmail.com about other such trainings.
