About HCA

The association that represents Professional Counselors in Hawaii. Professional Counselors are dedicated to helping people meet the challenges of life. They receive extensive education and training which includes a minimum of a Master’s degree with a solid foundation in human growth and development, psychotherapy and mental health, career and lifestyle development, social and cultural foundations, and group work as well as supervised practicums and internships.

HCA Mission Statement

HCA is committed to promoting state-wide professionalism among counselors; and ensuring the use of best practices in counseling. This is done by providing a code of ethics, accepted standards of practice, and education programs to promote diversity, collaboration, scholarship and change.
